Wales Travel Information

When traveling to conference venues in Wales, there are good links by rail, road and air.

By Road

The main motorway into Wales is the M4,which runs over the Severn Bridge and includes a toll. The A55 joins the North of Wales with the North of England.

The A40, which begins in Oxford, runs through Gloucestershire, into Wales. It passes through the Valleys of South Wales, the Mid Wales Lakes and Mountains, and down to Carmarthenshire, finally ending in Pembrokeshire.

By Rail        

Paddington train station offers services to stops en route to Swansea, including Newport and Cardiff. To reach other parts of Wales, changes are necessary to reach other parts of Wales.

By Air

There are two airports in Wales; Cardiff International Airport and the smaller Swansea Airport.

AirWales have flights from many major airports into Cardiff and Swansea. BMIBaby runs flights to Cardiff.

Coed y Brenin Forest "Forest of the King" - A Forestry Commission area of outstanding natural beauty, the idea location for experience nature or getting adventurous with some outdoor activities.

Harlech Castle, built in 1290, appears to grow out of the mighty rock on which it stands. An amazing world heritage site.

Cardiff Bay, an ambitious 21st century waterside development. The Bay has established itself as a vibrant focal point, both as a tourist destination and as a political engine for Wales, being the location of the new Welsh Assembly building.
